Karmveer Dr.Mamasaheb Jagdale was a great personality in the social and educational history of Maharashtra. He was a pioneer to establish Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal at Barshi in 1935. He opened the doors of education for the children of poor families in rural area. He established educational institutions for the development of society. He started hospital for the poor people. Jagdale Mama Hospital is a dynamic service facility center for the needy patient in rural area.                    
College of Education, Barshi is a pre-service training college in teacher education programme. It was the prime objective of Mamasaheb to prepare and provide quality teachers for the society. The teacher should try to face the challenges in 21st century. This college is a best platform to do it. The college has a remarkable contribution in the academic as well as sports achievement. The college is very popular in the field of education and physical education at state and national level. The college is rich in physical and human resources. Swimming Pool is the main attraction centre of the college. There is research center in the college for research scholars in teacher education. All-round development of student is an integral part of the college.
The members, trustees and authorities of the institution are pleased with the innovative contribution of college for the society.
