Karmveer Swimming Pool is the most popular swimming pool in Barshi town. It is managed by Shri Shivaji Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s College of Education,Barshi. College of Education,Barshi is a unique resource center for providing integrative courses of education and physical education. The courses such as B.Ed., B.P.Ed., M.Ed. and M.P.Ed. are running in the college. The college is affiliated to Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University,Solapur.
The construction of Swimming Pool is completed in 2016 with the financial assistance under the scheme of University Grants Commission 11th plan. It is a unique, modern and well-equipped swimming pool in such a rural area. Karmveer Swimming Pool is a milestone in the development of this institution.
The length of swimming pool is 50 meter. It has 21 meter width. It is made available for male and female. There are large adjacent changing rooms. It includes separate latrines. Locker facility is available to keep valuable equipments. The swimming pool is attractive with its clean water and eco-friendly surroundings. There is plenty of space for everyone to have a seat and stay cool. The coaching is provided under the supervision of expert and experienced trainers. There are trained lifeguards. Attendants are ready to ensure the safety of swimmers. The beginners can learn basic and competitive swimming techniques such as freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke etc. Karmveer Swimming Pool is known as a resource center for students and beginners to undergo initial training.
